Geilo offers a rich range of activities in the high mountains and is close to the national parks Hallingskarvet and Hardangervidda. Geilo has a diverse range of activities, a ski resort that extends up the mountainsides on either side of the valley, connected by a free ski bus - in addition to endless cross-country trails. There are horse-drawn sleigh rides, snowshoeing, ice fishing, water parks, bowling alleys, and a unique, vibrant center with diverse shops and eateries.
Vestlia
Vestlia in Geilo is the perfect starting point for a relaxing holiday in Geilo. Here, you have access to the fantastic cross-country network in Geilo, with groomed ski trails around Ustadalsfjorden, perfect for a family trip. Vestlia Resort offers a play area, bowling alleys, water park, as well as a bar and restaurant. SkiGeilo's alpine resort, spanning both sides of the valley, is connected with a free shuttle bus between the sides, and Vestlia is the perfect starting point. There are several children's slopes, Norway's best park area for children and youth. In summer, you can take your bike up the lift and ride down the flow trails or try the pump track located just behind Vestlia Resort.
Geilo is easily accessible from both Bergen and Oslo, located approximately halfway between Norway's largest cities along Route 7, or by train to Geilo - where you can put on your skis and head straight to the ski slopes. Geilo has good driving conditions throughout the year.
