All the activities Lofoten has to offer- from Surfing in Unstad, to Golfing in Gimsøya or just hiking in the beautiful mountains surrounding the cabin. With a car you can easely access all of Lofoten from the cabin.Boat rental and guided fishing tours are available upon request.

Welcome to Sjøstrand Rorbuer!
Sjøstrand is beautifully located in the lively fishing village of Ballstad, right in the heart of Lofoten. Surrounded by majestic mountains and the sea on all sides, it’s the perfect starting point for unforgettable day trips – both nearby and throughout the islands, east or west.
At Sjøstrand, you can stay in traditional fishermen’s cabins (rorbuer) and cottages:
Two rorbuer with two bedrooms and a loft, accommodating up to 6 guests
Two smaller rorbuer for 3–4 guests
Three cottages with one bedroom, perfect for 2 guests
Shared toilets and showers in addition to private facilities in the cabin
Washer and dryer by the reception at an extra charge
No matter which accommodation you choose, you’ll enjoy stunning views over Ballstad’s inner harbour and the dramatic mountains surrounding it. After a day in the mountains, out at sea, or exploring the islands, you can relax in our sauna by the pier, available for all our guests.
All rorbuer include free WIFI and parking. We also have a EV charger at an extra charge.
📅 Activities:
From June 15 to August 30, you can join a fishing trip with Captain Børge Iversen. Trips depart daily at 14:00 and last about 3 hours.
During the winter season (February 20 – April 20), we also offer guided winter fishing trips for guests staying with us.
